Frequently Asked Questions

  • College Park Nursery school follows a play-based curriculum. We provide a nurturing and child-centered education where children are given freedom to play, explore and grow at their own pace, and where families are empowered to participate. This model provides many opportunities for children to learn important school readiness skills through both child-led and teacher-directed play. Traditional play-based preschools provide children ongoing opportunities to engage in pretend/fantasy play and integrate learning materials that lean more on the side of open-ended and imaginative/creative play.

  • During enrollment, we prioritize the children who meet the age requirements. If and when space allows, then we can open up a spot to a younger child. This is case by case and requires an age waiver agreement signed. You can continue to apply to our school as you normally would and will be contacted with more information.

  • We wish we could accept all families! Each year enrollment is unpredictable, we always encourage families to apply, but cannot guarantee a spot.

  • Every year enrollment season begins in February. Enrollment is first opened to Priority families (current, alumni, and waitlisted families) and occurs in the first week of February. All other families will be able to apply in the third week of February. Priority families are enrolled on a first come first serve basis, with exceptions for the 4s class. New families will be enrolled via lottery.

  • We stop enrolling children in November, but encourage families to stay connected to College Park Nursery School and enroll during our open enrollment period in February for the following September.

  • Each class has a maximum of 12 children. The 2s class has one teacher and two co-opers; the 3s, 3/4s, and 4s classes have one teacher and one co-oper. Depending on schedules, assistant teachers can take the place of co-opers.
